For many youth in South Africa’s townships, opportunity is out of reach. Surfpop stands at the shoreline of change, providing not just surf lessons, but education, nutrition, and a chance to break the cycle of poverty.
The Mission
Surfpop believes that the ocean has the power to heal and empower. Their mission is to provide a long-term, holistic program for children from disadvantaged communities, combining the physical and mental benefits of surf therapy with high-quality education and nutritional support to create sustainable futures.

10 Years of Empowerment
Since 2015, Surfpop has provided a safe haven and a path to employment for youth from Masiphumelele, Ocean View, and Khayelitsha. This past year marked their 10-year anniversary of turning dreams into reality.
Your Monthly Impact
Your support provides a holistic experience, including access to a safe space five days a week after school with professional mentors. To date, this model has delivered 1,757 surf lessons, 1,578 education classes, and 88,730 healthy meals
Proven Success
Currently supporting 82 active beneficiaries. The program maintains a powerful track record: 100% of social workers noticed improved resilience and prosocial behaviour among participants, while 90% of caregivers reported improved school performance.
