Over 20 years of experience in management, particularly in the media and marketing industry, followed by digital business skills in senior positions such as CEO.
For the past 8 years, Romy has matched her passion for social impact with her business skills and is currently the CEO of forgood, South Africa's largest volunteering platform.
Achievements to date - over 30 social impact events, ranging from building community centers with bricks made out of trash. Over 20 of South Africa's top corporates use our SAAS system. The first ever dividend payout. We are now profitable. Our first client outside of South Africa is based in the UK.
A new division, consultancy in EVP, an events department.
A site redesign, a solution for non-desk workers, with over 370 Verified Causes.
To date, over 48 000 have volunteered their time, and donated goods or money through our platform, a stat that Romy is extremely proud of.
Romy takes her work seriously, profit alongside purpose. Growth, not micro-managing, a predominately female management team. If you shine you will grow with her. Romy believes that while any type of "giving" is beneficial, it's often misguided. That’s why forgood gives a voice to our Causes, allowing them to upload what they REALLY need, in real-time. Match-making - for good!
Interests: Romy is obsessed with her twin toddlers, a feisty little girl, and a soft-hearted little boy. They don't allow her to have many hobbies.... but if drinking champagne counts, she always finds time to pour a glass of sparkling!
