Chiedza Muguti is an experienced and assiduous Product Leader focused on product management, product design, and product marketing in the finance and insurance industries, driving successful and impactful product deliveries. Bringing people together; developing and delivering innovative digital solutions; leading incredibly talented teams and bringing out the best in people is what keeps her motivated every day. An immensely proud Zimbabwean based in Berlin, Chiedza has built a career combining two things she loves: People and Creativity.
Chiedza is passionate about sharing her story and experiences working in Tech and demystifying the jargon to make it a field that is more accessible and desirable to work in. Her strong belief is that to build products that can capture a wide audience and subsequently drive revenue and growth, teams need to be as representative as possible.
Chiedza grew up with her two Grandmothers that were the heads of her family after becoming widows in their 30’s. They always led with 5 principles that stuck with Chiedza: empathy, consistency, dignity, fairness and respect. These principles were replicated by her parents who provided a strong foundation at home, through love and discipline to form her into the woman she is today.
From humble subsistence farming beginnings, two generations later, Chiedza has built a successful career that started in London and is now a Chief Product Officer in Berlin thanks to the resilience and belief instilled in her by her Grandmothers and Parents.
During her early years in Tech she had a women manager who was a massive inspiration for the type of leader she wanted to be - someone who earned the trust of their team by getting to know them on a personal level.
Chiedza gives back to women in STEM by means of public speaking at conferences like Mind the Product Engage or Prow Product Conference, and offering mentorship with Product Academy, and through adhoc direct requests she frequently receives through referrals. She works with BlackInTech Berlin to build a community supporting people of colour working in tech. She has also taken an active part as a Trainer for Product Academy and in Oct 2022 she was asked to host the Black Girls Tech Summit.
One thing she will never tire of is pushing herself to be the best leader she can be, and being responsible with the impact you can have on someone’s life.
Interests: Chiedza is getting back into reading and at the moment she is reading "Dare to Lead" by Brene Brown. She is also a huge music fan, music always lifts her spirits and puts Chiedza in an awesome mood. Chiedza feels energised and positive after some dancing!
